Grignan les Adhémar Secrets de Syrah

Sigh. A waste of good terroir. 100% Syrah from southern France from one of the newer AOCs. On the nose, dark fruit and heavvvvvvy oak. In the mouth, dark fruits, coffee/mocha and oak. Very jammy and modern in style. Worst part is, you can tell the underlying fruit is decent, but the winemakers intervened for the worse...

Wet dog off the nose. In the mouth, super fruit-forward, coffee grounds, jammy and way too oaky for my liking. It's really hard to get past the nose... 🐶👎🏻
