Maria dinner 5/30/21 color is brownish and orange rim with notes of Sherry and a sense of sweetness but also acidic profile. Went just over the hill with oxidation but proclaimed as great by R and actually went well with the mixed hot pot food.

A medium red with a slight orange rim, the '98 Domaine Saint Benoit Châteauneuf-du-Pape 'Grande Garde' exhibits roasted aromas of raisiny red fruits, espresso, bitter chocolate, leather and spice. A dry aftertaste proceeds a moderate length finish. Near the end of its prime though.
