If I had any lingering doubts about this producer, this wine crushed them. I’m not a big white Rhone drinker, but this was bonkers. Opened with whiffs of pineapple, lychee, butter, vanilla, smoke and animal musk. Medium to light bodied, but the palate is long and mineral and reverberates through the finish, with acid that’s remarkable for a rhone white. Vibrant, fun, and natural; classic Souhaut.

Nov 3rd, 2020Floral and ever so slightly herbal. An unfortunate, putrid aroma of mercaptan reduction emerges after a few swirls. I almost couldn’t detect it, but when I did, I couldn’t not notice. I worry this will not blow off. I’ll check back in a few days.
