2005 Domaine Ostertag Fronholz Alsace AOC Vendange Tardive de Gewurtztrainer. Lush, unctuous, stewed lychees, roses, cloves, autumn spices and stroopwaffels. I had this with a Duck Sriracha of deep fried tender duck with garlic and tamarind sauce, chopped fresh green chili from 22 Thai Cuisine on Maiden Lane near Wall Street. A hot and spicy Thai dish meets an aromatic, sweet Alsatian Gewurtz. This is quite an aggressive wine-and-food pairing but it works great for me.
