With 120 g/L of residual sweetness, the 2018 Gewurztraminer Fronholz Vendanges Tardives opens with notions of blossom honey, Damask rose and juicy lychee. The mouthfeel is luscious, round and brimming with sweet yellow peach compote. The rose perfume pervades everything with its floral intensity. This is a dessert in itself, concentrated less by botrytis than by passerillage, preserving the varietal integrity and a super-charged purity of fruit. This was a new sticky for me, so no base reference. This managed to be both sweet and light, intensely sugared but not at all cloying and despite 20 years carried a beam of acidity at its core. Nice!

Belle surprise avec un beau nez
de litchi et rose, la bouche sur le même registre. Un joli vin sur le fruit exotique avec une sucrosité qui te tapisse le palais avec fraîcheur. Et le litchi presque
envoûtant. Un moelleux un peu convenu mais très bon
