Very good vintage for this wine. One of my favourite from the Fete this year. Elegant yet dense, with blackberries (and leaf), black plumb skins, and fine black pepper on the nose. Good acidity and robust tannins (a positive thing). Will drink well now or from 4-5 years.

Jul 8th, 2018This guy is confusing me a bit. Looks young, tastes old. Not very viscous, though dense and with a bit of surfer's slick (watery, slightly oily outer layer). Peculiar forestry, earthy, musty, mushroomy, almost woody nose. Tannins still present but the fruit is falling off and the acidity is a bit flabby. It definitely has the makings of a very good wine but the various components seem to not have come through fully, or to have given up the ghost. Like the imprint a hand-written poem, left on the sheet underneath. A flawed bottle or storage issue?
