Incredible wine. Huge but not heavy. Dense, brooding, hibernating. Not super showy at this stage but still gives an incredible experience if you give it time and listen. 2013 is a great vintage for Batard as it is more of a lean, acid driven style which balances the big, rich, sometimes heavy (depending on producer and year) character. Great freshness and mineral character. Perfect balance. Well worth the money if you can afford it. Although it was fantastic at age 5, I can only imagine how amazing it’ll be in a decade or two.
