It's a peculiar chablis. The nose is rich with pear, white peach, fresh white grapes juice, lemon curd, honey. It's smelling almost botrytised. The palate is a bit more classical, with a good acid drive, with a bit of a chalky mouthfeel, lemon and lime juice, some grip and a long, fresh finish that goes on for a while. It's quite good but not at all standard on the nose. And interestingly, the very tropical and rich nose doesn't really translate into a tropical and rich palate. I have another bottle of this wine on the side that I will open soon to check whether there might be a touch of premox that could explain the odd nose.
