Domaine Marquis d'Angerville
Volnay 1er Cru Pinot Noir
Still an aldehydic character upon opening. Good fruit, body; simply not refined, elegant.

May 16th, 2017Fabulous value for a layered experience. Some good fruit density and gras but also smokey and savory. Quite firm though, many more years of life ahead.

Aug 19th, 2016Slight VA to the aromas, which are dominated by Sous Bois and spice; good richness and mouthfeel expressing more fruit than aromatics suggest, but not overly complex; finishes more abruptly and less elegant than anticipated marked by a tannic edge, or astringent character. Possibly elevage not nailed? Not certain how time will remedy. Pleasant for the table; not for meditation.
