Favorite from the Recent Domaine tasting.
Sakana dinner second time with Wilson Mabel 6/15/22 and again as with Altenberg last time basically matched perfectly with almost all the wonderful dishes. Outshone the Grand Cru Riesling Schlossberg easily. Perfect combo of fruits stones earthiness liveliness that complemented all the varieties. Only big exception was the complex Uni bowl of shiso leaf overlaid with mixture of uni wagu scallop salmon roe scallop yuzu jelly. Riesling was worse on that wonderful dish.

Second bottle, and this time I decanted it and wait a while. What a spectacular wine this is, depth, complexity and sweet as sweet should be. I think this wine can live another decade or two but who cares🤷‍♂️ 94 I gave the first bottle, this one a big step up to 98!

Robe dorée avec reflets cuivrés. Nez invitant de fruits tropicaux, avec une pointe pétrolée. Bouche généreuse mais un peu diffuse. L'équilibre n'y est pas. Le sucre n'est pas contrebalancé par l'acidité ou par la texture. Déception, puisque mes attentes étaient élevées.

Jun 14th, 2020Wilson opened 12/1/19 afternoon and dinner drink. What a beauty! Deep golden color. Tropical fruits and flowers underlaid by stones. Unctuous yet lively texture and long complex finish. Yum yum! So many more years to evolve! Glad went for the full AA case at reasonable $ 53.
