Don't knock the hot vintages, there are always surprises!

Sep 18th, 20162002 on Jan 5, 2019 from Bob’s cellar. Took a bit of time to open up but kept getting better with time. Complex, subtle honey flavor with a hint of oxidation. What a pleasant surprise.

Jan 7th, 2019Unfined and unfiltered and needs to be decanted is what the bottle said and boy were they right. This wine was apple juice color right out of the bottle and at first was a dud. One hour later it had all the characteristics of well made riesling. Close to being past peak as this was an 04, but looks like I got it just in time . A lot of complexity and terroir here in addition to the typical acidity and honey suckle and citrus. Slight petrol or rubber aroma.
