Restasted after 3 months.Tightly wound and closed, primary as can be. If you want to drink now, pull the cork a solid 24 hours in advance. Elegant tannins, fleshy mid palate, good length and focus.

Wild berries, smoke, black pepper, gravel and stones, leather and tobacco. I’m detecting some oak influence but it could just be a naturally flamboyant spice character coming through.

Stellar value from wonderful importer Eric Stauffeneger. Soft, ripe, fruit-forward but balanced with minerality, leather, spice and lovely lavender aroma. Very traditional expression, slightly rustic but with more than enough young primary fruit and polish to please New World fans. Higher percentage of Syrah (40%), leaning on the darker side of the fruit spectrum. For those who are looking to discover the meaning of the phrase "poor man's Chateauneuf-du-Pape", look no further. For my $ this is a steal right now.

Vintage 2005 - a wine with bottle variation. Definitely at it's end. Must be drunk.

Vintage 2005 - best bottle I drank of this vintage // and improves with aeration, now open on the third day, the wine is spicy and velvety

Pretty wine, feminine for Southern Rhone red. Fruity with floral notes.

Lavender heavy on the nose, tarragon and charred sapling on river water surface. Grape-y, but earlier it was grape lip gloss and nail polish. It has since cast off the acrid robe to reveal a softer side. Herbaceous to be sure with purple sage, rosemary and orange mint. Soft and black- plummy but silky and layered. Good depth at this price point.
