This is a fantastic demonstration of Chateauneuf du Pape and its ability to balance complexity and approachability. There is a terrific lushness and power to the fruit character but also an elegance and finesse to the lingering spice notes. Leafy, herbaceous qualities on the nose accent the juicy cherry tomato acidity that forms the mouthfeel. The finish is long and elegant despite the power. This wine is impossible to not enjoy.

Jul 4th, 2016Stewed blackberries, cherry tomatoes, game, white pepper, cola, eucalyptus, teriyaki, garrigue, lavender, mocha, balsamic. Perfect acid/smooth velvet tannin balance, lush silky texture, deceptively full bodied, complex earthy, brandied cherry finish with a lingering spicy tingle. Complex yet approachable.
