Brilliant ruby-red. A hugely expressive, seductively perfumed bouquet evokes ripe dark fruits, potpourri and licorice, lifted by a smoky mineral overtone. Concentrated yet lively in style, showing noteworthy clarity and thrust to the cherry, boysenberry and floral pastille flavors. Third day open & still had some life. Glad I’ve got another to sit on for a bit longer

Incredible power and structure. Aeration will reveal more fruit and floral elements. Tannins nearly overwhelming at first, but expanded more with time. Garrigue, licorice, lavender, intense minerality. This baby needs a lot of time, but will be an exhilarating wine to taste down the road. Gigondas continues to be one of the true gems in all of France for quality and value.

Bright violet. Heady aromas of ripe black and blue fruits, potpourri and licorice are complemented by smoky mineral and spice nuances that emerge with air. Juicy, expansive black raspberry and bitter cherry flavors become sweeter and put on weight with aeration while retaining a graceful touch. 2010. Drinks like a big CdP. Ripe, peppery, chewy tannins. Shoulda laid down longer.
