The nose is ocean air, fleur du sel, and granite dust. On first pour, starts out with some savory roasted parsnip and turnip. Builds weight with air time; lemon curd, citrus zest, and Costa Rican “Cas” fruit (which is a hybrid green guava, pear, and citrus). Finishes with more cracked granite. Love it!

Stop asking questions and just try this. As with almost every wine from Leroy, gotta give this a few minutes to let the sulphery funk blow off. But once it does... clean and focused Meyer lemon curd, crushed rocks, and flint. Amazing that this “peasant” wine is rocking at 8 years old. Will go another 8 without even blinking.

A nose of pan roasted vegetables. A palate of lemon curd and grapefruit beautiful bright acidity and elegance. If this is a “Peasant” wine I would love to be a peasant!!

Rich and fat, decanted to bring back the nerve of the acid - far from your generic aligoté, of course

Corked but, made for some unbelievable béarnais and lyonnaise sauce.

Such a beauty. Such clarity and dimension. Best of the 2009-2011 trio enjoyed over the past couple months, shows the strong vintage with balance, cut, energy. Not my top Aligotè, but Leroy rarely disappoints me.

Not your average Aligote. Acid, complex, intense, long.

Funky and earthy up front. Lively and broad but not too complex. If only Leroy made more wine in my price range.
