Bright and deep straw gold. Inviting nose of baked quince and dried yellow flowers. Echoed on the full-bodied palate with layers of dried stone fruit, plantain, unsweetened butterscotch, and a dusting of white pepper. Finish is lengthy especially as it warms and the complexity magnifies. Need a full-bodied Chardonnay replacement? A white for that “I only drink red” person? A summer accompaniment to a hearty and complex meal? This is a great answer to those questions and more. Pair with lobster, roasted game fowl, scallops, pork tenderloin, and even lighter cuts of beef (filet mignon with Bordelaise or Béarnaise sauce) and prepare for ecstasy. Drink now through 2028.

Reading Josh Raynolds’ description here on Delectable pretty much nails it on the head for me. Great interplay of subtle yet complex melange of green and yellow fruits, flowers, and the classic and lovely bitter notes that these varietals bring: anise, citrus pith, and wild herbs. Certainly a fresher style, relies more on balance of blocked ML and lees to fill in richness, its quite appealing without sacrificing the “gras.” 35 1930s GB, 35 1930s BOU, 20 CLA, 10 ROU; 13.0% abv

Decided to give this youngster a whirl. Bought a few and wanted to see where it was. Decanted it and after a couple hours, opened up to this beautiful granitic lavender with pepper and red fruits

Super aromatic: underripe melon, guava, and hints of petrol. Well balanced, bright tropical fruit, finishes well with youthful acidity. This wine asked to be paired with white, flaky fish.
