Perfectly stored since release but still starting to fade, which is more apparent on the palate. Aromatically it is still firing on all cylinders

Have had some good and some fair bottles of this, from various vintages. I think Chave’s St. Joseph is one of the best wines and greatest values in the Northern Rhone but Offerus, his Negoce wine, is a bit lighter. This hits all the right notes: still lovey black and blue fruit and a nose redolent of grilled meat and olives with a bit of wood spice. Middleweight and amply acidic this is just really nice all around, if lacking the depth and persistence of the domaine St. J.
