Testing out some lower level 18’s as I think it’s time. Big, expressive nose of a warm vintage with soppy black and red cherries. Huge fruit. Some tweed jacket and a hint of mineral. Serious baby fat nose. Palate is classic 18. Massive and concentrated with a serious mineral spine but not overripe at all like 2009 or 2003. Terrific length and sap. Really long and winding. Awesome stuff.

Jan 20th, 2023In the zone! Deep, ripe black and red cherries and lovely mossy earth. Ripe and with a lipstick like intensity. Palate is deep, rich, ripe and concentrated but with beguiling freshness and wonderful purity. Lots of grip and cut. Really intense due to low yields but still has that Girard drinkability factor. So so good. Velvety, ripe and sweet tannins. Super overachiever in 16. A great wine!

Oct 19th, 2021Dark color for a Girard and a very deep and serious nose. Extremely high toned. Mixed bright mid season rainer cherries with ultra ripe morellos as well. Beautiful deep wet earth notes. Layered and very deep. Really gets deep into the nasal cavity. Just ethereal. Palate is ripe, elegant and super juicy, with terrific fruit. Gorgeous mid to late season cherries. Bright and juicy. Amazing balance and freshness. Complex and ripe. Just terrific

They are like a powder. Juicy finish that pumps out fruit to the freshness. Tiny berry intensity. Big glycerin. So intense for a Peuillets. Not particularly complex but the fruit is so beautiful you don't find. Long finish of fruit and a hint of mineral.

Mar 17th, 2017Light color. Gorgeous classic color. Subdued nose with some nice spice, cherry, earth. But needs air. Elegant and refined with sweet fruit and a lovely silky texture. Great structure and good grip. Nice spicey finish. Nose opens up with air. Nice Sunday afternoon lunch Burgundy. I'd air it out for 2 hours next time.

May 15th, 2016Nice crunchy fruits (dark and red) with a hint of oak. A little simple but enjoyable nevertheless. Fell apart after being open for a day and a half.
