Nose has blackberry jam, eucalyptus, over-ripe black currant, cold molasses, new black leather jacket, dried blackberry, blueberry seeds and faint vanilla.

Palate has over-ripe blackberry, ripe black currant, sweet roasted red pepper, plum skin, warm plum, prune dry leather and dry garden soil with medium tannins.

Opened 24H prior for slow oxidation, 5H decant, more time appreciated.

50% Carignan, 30% Syrah & 20% Grenache Noir

Paired to slowly braised, local (Kinderhook Farm, Valatie, NY) lamb shanks and Parmesan polenta, a match made in heaven.

Crazy amount of fruity jam nose hitting the decanter, super dark, extracted color. A blend of 50% Carignan, 30% Syrah and 20% Grenache Noir.
Cherry, blueberry, blackberry, plum on the palate, so much fruit going on, it's just difficult to describe. Medium-light tannins, slight spicy note with cocoa on the medium-long finish.

We picked these bottles up a year ago after a tasting... Just getting to them now, they needed time to settle in. This is a crazy value at the $40 we paid, I will go hunt for more, this is drinking awesome, but 3-4 years could be stellar.
