Domaine Faivre
Beaune 1er Cru Pinot Noir
As previous a nice balanced mature Burg if not on the thin side. One more left and should finish off. Excellent to complement the buttery pork Lion by Evan

Feb 23rd, 2021On Latham trip with parents first night take out and Bob’s smoked pulled pork. Nice mature flowers on nose though palate just a tad thin but firm and acidic and good with the varied foods. Supposedly an off vintage but still excellent.

Oct 10th, 2020This one CVed but no record! Must be the one noted 10/29/16 as it has no vintage recorded. Great wine. Red berries and light mushroom and terrific texture and lively palate. Long finish. Almost a sense of sweetness. Funk is gone. Cork showed a bit of stain at puncture point. So it kept perfectly fit 3.5 years!

Jun 3rd, 2020At Latham. Earthy acidic sharp cherry nose. Medium body and balanced complex palate with long finish and a hint of heat. Great with the turkey pot pie.

Nov 24th, 2018Rushed to pick and darn this likely is last bottle! Excellent as noted before with dark Forest and leaves etc. Interestingly the funky notes previously described not prominent here and bottle was opened direct without CV. Yum and to be enjoyed at Frog Hollow in these early days!

Sep 12th, 2018CVed 3/7/17 after GL Moine Burg tasting. Darker than Marsannay. Nose strikingly funky with dark red floral notes and mints. Silky and delicious on palate with balanced complex finish.

Mar 8th, 2017CVed 10/29/16. A bouquet of flowers and mature red fruits modern on with a bit of earthy barnyard funk! Really nice balance of fruits and acids and floral notes and silkiness on palate and a long complex layered finish. Yum! Glad to have cellared for this long. $30 back then and what a value.
