Domaine Elodie Balme
Champs Libres Côtes du Rhône Villages Roaix Red Rhone Blend
Straight to the point and delicious. Mostly on the fruit with spicy notes and some leather/musk.

Feb 18th, 2015Weirdly juicy and leathery at once. Missing some kind of middle note to pull it all together.

May 17th, 2020A line I enjoyed from Pete Wells NYT review of a new restaurant’s wine list today: “it’s a refreshing change from the lists of those sommeliers who spend months trying to get a single bottle from some vigneron who doesn’t have a phone and rides a donkey to work.” That said, this is a natural wine but a very enjoyable one. Unabashedly fruity and pure. All well balanced with nothing poking out. Finishes nicely. Good quality for price for sure and a relatively versatile pairer.
