Very well made in a modern style (which, I have to disclose, is not my thing). Nose has rich, ripe fruit and some subtle rocky minerality. Soft, fruity, and mouthfilling. Nice balance and a very polite texture. Good length. But where’s the effing garrigue? How ‘bout some iodine?

Wines I bring when visiting the boyfriend—as a chef he has a real passion for game meats, so seemed like a good choice. Brooding plums, black cherries, and grilled meat form the base of the profile. Add to this a dusting of earth and iron ore followed by lighter notes of anise and violet. Medium-bodied with muscular, chewy tannins, aging in concrete has graced this Gigondas with texture and trace minerality. Drinking well now. 14.0% ABV

Been enjoying this over 3 days and watching it evolve. Went from pure and cool black fruit with lacy herbal and mineral notes to savory, expressing notes of game, beef, and lavender. Captures the charm of the vintage and the freshness of these higher elevation vineyards. Excited to try more wines from this relative newcomer to Gigondas.

Family party, so truncated notes. Rich, broad and friendly. Lots of roasted herbs, rich spicy blackberry fruit, and crushed rock. Rich, soft, and mouthfilling.

Good easy drinking. Close to a Châteauneuf de pape. Could age a few years
