Domaine des Bosquets
La Colline... Gigondas Red Rhone Blend

Shimmering ruby-red. Highly fragrant scents of ripe red berries, kirsch, exotic spices and candied lavender are accompanied by a smoky mineral nuance that builds steadily with air. Smooth and seamless on the palate. Intense raspberry, cherry-cola, spicecake and garrigue flavors deliver a suave blend of power and delicacy. Finishes smooth, gently tannic and impressively long, leaving fierce red fruit and floral notes behind. (Josh Raynolds, Vinous, January 2023)

Best Gigondas ever for me. Wowza. Blew my socks off after 45 min decant. Deeply extracted blackberry with animale surround on fig paste and fresh compote. Wonderfully crafted.

Nice wine. Labeled at 15% but doesn’t feel that way at all. Last bottle from a set we bought on our honeymoon 10 years ago. Our tastes have certainly changed away from the southern Rhone since then - but can’t argue with the quality and enjoyment here.

Very nice gigondas - probably best I’ve had. Slightly hot, at 15%, which is my only complaint. I think we may have bought this on a honeymoon trip through the rhone in 2015 - our tastes have certainly changed since then but this is still nice.

Super concentrated, rustic, classic Gigondas. Kirsch and blackberry liqueur with spice and garrigue. The long maceration at 32 days and 18 months in oak gives this wine incredible character. Big and powerful. Love it! Give it some cellar time to smooth out to be ideal but it’s really good now. 2017 vintage on Dec 31, 2019

Excellent bottle with assorted cheese to wrap up the week. Lots of berries with subtle tannins and a good finish. Can’t remember where or when I picked this one up but very enjoyable nonetheless.

Picked up at the winery in Gigondas back in May, this is excellent. Great aromas of blue and black fruits, some lavendar, and a hint of earth, this has a beautiful mouthfeel with a subtle acidity and sweet tannins that keep it alive on the palate. Great, lingering finish. This winery was far and away the biggest surprise we had on our trip to CdP (in a good way!). Just reconfirms that Gigondas has some of the best QPR wines around (especially if you’re like me and love grenache!).
