Brawny with a decided soil component; I got blackberry when I was expecting strawberry. Grainy and full but not much verve left. I wanted it to be more compelling but it was a great peek in at a 35 year old Volnay.

Always known for a lot of whole clusters, one could still sense the stems in this Mitans (maybe even a touch of brett) but the prettiness, purity, and velvet texture had me coming back for multiple pours. Understandably it began fading quickly after an hour or so of “airtime”. Still a great treat at a summer pig roast. Thanks @Jason Berry
