Massive. Walnut, citrus zest, earth, yellow fruit. So long, sherried, but still totally elegant.

100% Savagnin from vineyards in l'Étoile, a tiny appellation in the southwestern part of Jura, aged for 6 months in foudre followed by another 7 years in oak, under flor (never topped up). Intense yellow color. Quite complex nose, somewhat reminiscent of an old Fino or Amontillado, but without the intensity and salinity. Aromas of walnuts, spices (curry), a hint of burnt caramel and some subtle funk. Full bodied (it feels heavier than most Amontillados). Long, spicy finish with intense hazelnut flavors
