High QPR. This is in the zone. Reddish brown. Good tannins. A tad dry. Earth. Hint of pepper. Medium.

High-altitude Sierra foothills Syrah from Bill Easton. Cassis and currant forward with savory tones and tannins that could use a few more years to resolve. Excellent with an outrageous clove-studded, blood orange-glazed Christmas ham.
