Domaine de la Romanée-Conti (DRC)
La Tâche Pinot Noir
Rose and mint, cocoa powder, red berries, cherry pit, iron, dry pine. More ethereal than dense, though it is balanced and long, light and energetic. Shows the vintage, in the most lovely way. Tasted blind at the domaine.

Mar 27th, 2018If you look in the dictionary under elegance, there is a picture of this wine. The nose might be the best red floral noses I've experienced. The fruit is understated ripe strawberries, cherries, pomegranate, cooked rhubarb, dried red roses, touch of red licorice cola, baking spices, a fine chalkiness that sticks to the mid tongue and a finish that doesn't stop.

Mar 1st, 20242019 Judgment of Pinot; ranked 2nd behind Bass Phillip (what a surprise). Silky, beautiful DRC that I thought was at least a decade older than it really is. Subtle rhubarb and vanilla on the finish. Love.

Apr 27th, 2019The 04 LT may be the wine of the vintage. Showing lots of power, complexity & finesse with black cherry, Asian spice, soy, mineral & rose petal.
