Big and meaty with a nose of stewed fruit, violets and smoke. Very juicy palate of candied red fruits and cappuccino. Grapey tannins and decent length. Screams for grilled ribeye.

2012 Dom Christia Les Garrigues :
100% Grenache. If only all Cote du Rhone was as good as this. Delightful fragrant bouquet of lifted red fruit aromas. Palate similarly lively, beautifully elegant, not at all what one expects from this appellation. A welcome savoury note helps the long farewell to a clean satisfying finish. More like a mini Chateauneuf du Pape than what we know as CDR. A real coup de coeur 91/100

2012 vintage. Always liked their wines. Reading other comments can see that the aromas are there but shown as floral, herbal, musk, leather. Is it me or is it Brett activity (4-ef, 4-eg)?
