Domaine de Cristia
Vieilles Vignes Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red Rhône Blend
This is an amazing chateauneuf-du-pape. Showing black fruits with earth, spices, peppercorn, chocolates, tobacco, herbs, graphites and vinaigrette.
Medium plus in body with medium acidity and long legs.
Very fruity and complex with a great mouthfeel and balance.
Good right out of the bottle and better as it opens up and shows some tannins.
Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cherries.
Robert Parker 91 points.
This 2005 vintage was great, and it is really showing. Will be good in the next 5 years, but it is peaking now.
Delicious and yummy with so much complexity.
Aged in concrete vats, and oak barrels, for 18 months.
15% alcohol by volume.
95 points.
$100. ( less than half that, if you buy current vintage)

Still way too young, yet too tempting not to open. As delicious as before right on opening but I know will be even better in a few hours and on day 2. So seductive with red and blue fruit, juniper, unsmoked tobacco and florals.

May 4th, 20182010, young but already a beautiful expression of the region's terroir. Perfumed nose highlights lavender and flower stem with some black licorice/anise in the background. Silky smooth palate with concentrated blueberries and hints of gravel, olive, and cola and a long spicy finish.

Sep 27th, 2015Pretty damn impressive. Really took some time to open up, but when it did :-)))! Way too early to drink this now, but sometimes life's too short to wait, so the heck with it. #cdp #cristia
