Nice fairly full nose, dark red color with a full body that is not complex and is still tannic enough that it is acidic and bitter which remains in the aftertaste. We had it with spicy sausage that brought out the bitterness as did the olives stuffed with Gorgonzola, which most red wines seem to pair well with. The wine was definitely not over the hill nor "bad," but it is hard to conceive what the wine would pair with well.
