L'Olivaie Saint Joseph Syrah

Really opened up from a very reductive state. Diaper and cabbage gave way to roasted black plums, espresso, savory meat, mint, and granite. Dark and umami driven Syrah, left me wanting to explore more of this producer.

Poor Sashi. He leaves town and I go straight for the St. Joseph.

Modern, but quite classy. Drinking great right now.

Gorg. Elegant, soft lovely dark fruits. Home run!

Great for a Thursday lunch.

Not loving the new oak. Good stuff but I'm distracted and so is the purity.

Delicious, but classically rich. Definitely not hipster juice. Tradition reigns in this domaine.

Spiritous and strangely dirty nose. Lovely fruit and complexity. Long finish. Interesting to see how it develops
