I find these older vintages of Chamonard to be hit and miss, but this one was very nice. Gorgeous, fading gamay fruit matching dusty brambley berry and wet earth.

Good balance, fruity great with our barbecue.

Color shows bricking, mature aromas, while I LOVE Chamonard’s wines, this 2009 is a full degree of alcohol higher than the 2007 I also may open (so, 13.5 vs. 12.5), perhaps that is why it seems to have evolved so quickly. Nice wine, but mildly disappointing for a Chamonard.
