Unmistakably Californian. Big and weighty on the palate, almost full-bodied. Doesn’t shy away from flavor showing stewed strawberries, nutmeg, and bits of earth. Extracted. Still solid and a really good winery but oh what could’ve been with more deft and finesse. On the plus side this will be appreciated but will also certainly be a crowd pleaser. On the other hand, that crowd also probably slips an ice cube in a glass of Latour and buys Natty Light by the keg.
