Apr 13th, 2020Simply fantastic. Was terribly reductive and backwards upon opening, oaky and seemingly oxidized. After a day it completely changed course. A stunning bottle of BB. Drinks like a Meursault.

On the Lawn at Tanglewood this evening with the Boston Pops Orchestra. Our Pops conductor Keith Lockhart is leading a live-to-picture performance of Star Wars: A New Hope, a showing of the classic 1977 film, with the Orchestra performing Mr. Williams’ iconic score.
For live-to-picture productions, the orchestra performs the entire movie score in real time as the film unspools. (Vocals, dialogue and effects are isolated from the original music track.)
Generally we get to hear Star Wars scores a couple times per season here at Tanglewood, but tonight we get a chance to hear them with the backdrop of the movie (Episode IV) that launched a franchise, to say the least!
I celebrated another full trip around the sun, since my coming into this world, earlier this week. Tonight my wife, some dear friends and me will be enjoying some enticing wines along with our movie night. So notes...maybe, but I'll try!

Viscous, candied lemon, flint and spiced apple on entry, with highlights of white flowers, delicate mushroom, a wisp of honey all riding a chalky, electric core. Beautiful Bourgogne with some power, precision and concentration. 2012

This Bourgogne blanc fucks. Nice edge of reduction, crisp acidity, round texture, defined and pure depth of fruit. Extremely well made B. blanc. Citrus, ripe stonefruit, struck flint, sea salt, grilled fruit, a caress of herb/flower, brown butter, hazelnut.

Oct 28th, 2014Great borgogne blanc. Chalky lemon nose that delivers on the palate with a bit more body than you'd expect. Opens up after an hour or so and the oak becomes more integrated and not as prevalent. Overall not a lot of oak.
