Domaine Belleville
Rully Montpalais 1er Cru Chardonnay
Rully, Côte Chalonnaise, Burgundy, France
Had CVed for comp with Ampeaux. When first opened it smelled like it’s in the edge of oxidation but then it settled down and showed as most of the other Belleville Rully. Complexity, balance, transport to vineyards and vines. Yum. So good with Leila’s garlic buttered shrimp.

Jul 5th, 2017Second tasting CV: 9/28/16. Previous CV mid August prior to RC visit. Excellent nose that's floral with minerals. Citrus. Carried through to palate and finish. Better balance and notes complex than Bigotes '02. Least oxidized of the 4 and smallest amount taken by CV previously. Opened 11/9/16. Excellent and drinking nicely. Upping to 9.1.

May 17th, 20162nd CV comp. This vs '04, '04 La Perche; '05 La Pucelle. Perche near premix with golden color, nose hints of almonds. Still very drinkable especially with food, 8.7. Mont '04 drinking beautifully. Light color. Floral nose and balanced acidic palete. Long finish. 9.1. '05 sharper and more acidic that's lip smacking good: 9.0. La Pucelle is more mellow with deeper color but not as much as golden. Very lithe yet hint of creamy texture with long finish. Yum, 9.1. opened 4/17/17. Yum is the word. Very nice white Burg with just the right account of aging.
