Blackcurrant on the nose. Refined on the palate with m tannins, m acidity, very enjoyable.

2008. Looking a little tired on opening but started to show charcoal and tar at the start. Then moved into dark florals and cherry aromas. Great acid. Tannins are well and truly silky. Nice savoury palate.

Birthday French shenanigans party! Probably the best Cotes du Rhone you can get, essentially declassified Cornas. This was banging good!

2012. Great., nice ripe red and black fruit . Hints of tobacco and a bit of minerality. Med bodied. Tart at first but opened beautifully with savory accents. Wish had better food pairings to let it really shine...

As Ed said, this is not in any way a typical CDR. Made from Syrah from St. Peray and declassified Cornas this is baby Clape Cornas, which is still better than many producers top cuvees. Tons of spicey, white pepper laced fruit slathered in mineral extract. Great stuff.
