Domaine Alexandra Couvreur
Bourgogne Aligoté
A rare bird brought by EG - Aligoté made by the daughter of Michael Couvreur, the famed whisky distiller in Bouze-Lès-Beaune. Old vines, tiny yields, and as I understand, less than 450 bottles produced. Unicorn status aside, I was really impressed with the quality. Excellent concentration with electric acidity. Notes of beeswax, apple skins, lemon, chalk, and lingering pasty and cream. Also had to contend with some off-the-charts Riesling, so score may be knocked down a little. One to re-taste should bottles prove easier to come by.

Nov 14th, 2022A nice Aligote offering, pale lemon color with aromas of stone fruits, citrus and floral blossoms. On the palate flavors of crisp apple and pear with lemon citrus zest with slight white flower notes. Medium+ finish ending crisp with fruit, spice and citrus tang.
