Domaine A. ET P De Villaine Bourgogne Cote Chalonnaise “Les Clous” - so this is my first time with this vineyard but De Villaine is pretty solid on most of there bottlings - some undergrowth , cherry fruit ,Stoney , earthy but lean almost sarsaparilla, rose petal character

Ripe apple and pear and chamomile tea definitely some richness to this wine; I’m sure it would age well!

Just like the red, this is much more new world in style. Weighty, creamy, ripe. Cooked pears. While I was really impressed with the Villaine red, this one is less up my alley.

Found in a deep corner of the cellar, this 15-yr-old, $22 chard was way better than it had any right to be. Big, bordering flabby, but fresh. Lemon zest and pear, waxy oily, long chalky finish. Who knew?
