The color of tokaji. Sadly a little past it’s vibrant zesty best, but still classy on the palate. Almost no fizz. A soft and rounded palate, sherry with nuts. A rather beautiful, poised old wine. Tawny with hints of coconut and delicate sweetness with a touch of Madeira. Not like a typical champagne but unique and haunting. Gaining complexity in the glass. Very still and soft with roses. Fascinating.

Couldn't resist posting this beauty. Made specifically for the Royal Family for Princess Diana's wedding. Tasted in 2011 at a 61 vintage dinner.
