Tasted 14/10/2015

Pretty classic, not that complex Sangiovese (22-yr vines, 1 month maceration).

Deep ruby red, cherry red rim.
Welcoming nose of smoked cherry, violets, prunes, vanilla cookies, some fig and light hint of leather.
Enveloping yet bit harsh tannins. Medium body, accurate level of acidity. Flavors of sour wild cherry, cornel, blackberry, red currant, touch of earth.
Finishes with bitterness and acidity boost. Cherry seed, blackthorn, touch of vanilla
Pairing is desperately needed. Suggestion: smoked chicken breast.
