Del Dotto Vineyards
Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon
It's so frustrating finding "identified" wines on Delectable. Guys get your stuff together. Find and comment on the specific wine you are drinking.
This is the 2007 Del Dotto Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon.
Color is now a brick red with medium intensity.
After a 1 hour decant... It's delicate... aromas of green olive, white pepper, licorice, earth, and something medicinal. The nose is perhaps still developing, but I suspect at or near peak. On the palate, the wine is perfectly spherical, no sharp edges but still has grippy tannins. Alcohol is medium plus (posted at 14.2 ABV). Dry, with welcomed medium minus acidity. Flavors include oddly enough some stewed red fruit (red cherry), soil, and a hint of chocolate. The finish is very very long.
At first taste, I pegged this past my 93, but after careful review... It is a 94.

Big, high quality fruit. Lacked complexity.
