Well, isn’t this just special. A limited release celebrating the 130th anniversary of the inauguration of the Eiffel Tower. De Venoge’s Princes cuvées have possibly the most distinctive and striking presentations in all of wine. And yes, the champagne lives up to it.

A pale lemon color with glorious perlage and an innately creamy mousse. Pronounced blue fruit on the nose with a nice underpinning of fragrant herbs. Orange blossoms and toasty yeast. Sweet butter and ripe pears star along with some really nice floral aromas. Vanilla and honey after significant time in the glass.

A champagne that is refined and elegant to a wonderful degree. Equal parts Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier. Aged for five years on lees and released with a Brut dosage of 6 g/l. A more classic, aristocratic style of champagne that harkens back to an age of yesteryear. Restrained acidity and a very smooth mouthfeel and texture. The harmony here is delightful.

Almond slivers and lemon peel on the attractive and slightly generous palate. Fine minerality and a bit of blueberry. Bread crust, black currant, and limestone. The length here is fantastic and teases the tongue with a bit of warm spice. Truly fantastic, a one of a kind package that doesn’t disappoint.

Simply sublime. One the best champagnes we’ve ever had. Fitting bottle for Molly’s graduation celebration from the Paris College of Art as we Zoomed dinner together, each with a bottle.
