De Bortoli
La Bohème Act One Yarra Valley Riesling
An off dry Riesling from down under.
There were some petroly notes at first on the nose that went away after a while, leaving the stage to nice floral notes along with citrusy touches and some pear and white pepper. It's clearly a Riesling and you cannot mistake for anything else. The palate is easy going and lacks a bit of zing. Fresh pear and lemon along a good acid drive (not strong enough in my book though), a good width and a bit of thickness that's probably coming from the rs that makes that palate a bit too round and easy going. The finish is rather short, although a zesty, subtly bitter note carries on for a while. At 12% abv, this is an easy sip to enjoy along with a mango salad for instance.

Nov 6th, 2020Very citrusy and slightly sweet on the noise. Riesling with some Gewürztraminer and Pinot Gri added in, 10g residual sugar. Citrus, rose petal and a tiny touch of spice.
