See 2 previous notes from 2019 and 2022. Rich red and black fruits with Raspberry Strawberry Red Cherry and Black Cherry. A cool tasting Pinot (temperature). Barely medium weight but with great palate intensity. The remaining few will still be kicking in 3 plus years but as I said in the earlier notes the wow factor was there when it was young and I tried it at the Tasmanian Pinot Extravaganza in Launceston approximately 5 years ago.

Jul 29th, 2023Last year Barb and I attended the annual Tasting at the Pinot Shop in Launceston. Of the 75 approx Tasmanian Pinot Noirs this one was in my Top 3. It has gone on to wow audiences at subsequent tastings around the country. Had a bottle a couple of nights ago with the following tasting note. Whole bunch stemmy notes. More floral savoury and earthy than fruity notes. Incredible depth to the palate - sumptuous and delicious. Oak perfectly judged giving a slight burnt flavour. Medium + bodied with silky ripe tannins. Low acid. Beautiful now - drink sooner rather than later. Will please “crowds” and experts alike. Opened a bottle 176 weeks later on 21st October 2022. Still very good - raspberry notes coming through. Not the absolute wow when it was young.

From the Upper Derwent Valley. 40% whole bunch; 40% new French Oak. Lovely complex perfume. Balanced and beautiful. One of my Top 3 on the day from 60 Tasmanian Pinots tasted. . James Halliday gave it 98 points and said the nose reminded him of Chambolle Musigny. Had my 2nd wine of this lovely Pinot 184 weeks later on 10th February 2022. Aromas of ripe fruit and whole bunch - a pepper note. Red and black cherries. Cool flavours on the palate. Medium to full bodied. Looking forward to the next 4 bottles over the next several years.

woody scent which gives a hint of herbs on the palate. very aromatic with fine tannins. easy to drink.
