A bit hesitant...the cork was a bit spongy and fully 75% saturated. A moldy, mushroomy funk was first impression, but it blew off. Wine was dark purple but grew cloudy as it warmed. But wonder of wonders... sweet, blueberry lushness and delightful forest floor notes came together and the wine morphed into something truly wonderful. Who says California Pinots don’t age??? Simply delightful for its sense of history and its fruit- driven persistence.
