David Bruce
Central Coast Petite Sirah
Ok, but a little “worn”. The fruit was a bit burnt & raisiny - I’ve had other 08’s, that were better, but this one was a bit weaker.

Feb 23rd, 2019Smooth, with a nice finish. Fruit still there after 11 years...but balanced. Happy New Year!

Jan 1st, 2016The 98 drinks more like a Pinot now than the petit Syrah it was, although always it was a wine of greater subtlety and finesse than any petit Syrah I know. It's lighter than a Californian might be but in the Burgundian style it is probably tilting the scale toward fuller body, reflecting an American terroir within that style, or so I speculate. I have adored every stage of its maturation and it is hard for me to say when it gave the most.
