This vintage is slightly different in composition from that of the prior, but still retaining the formula; essentially this is a SuperTuscan with Zinfandel rather than Sangiovese as the “base varietal”. As such, it has CX a splash of residual sugar paired with a rich, gravelly mouthfeel. It is a decent enough cocktail wine, but I sense that it would really shine paired with spicy Asian cuisine.

Nov 4th, 2019Another amazing blend from Mr Akiyoshi, this is one which should be saved for cocktail time. It is on the thicker side of medium bodied, with balanced acidity and lots of red currant and cherry fruit.
