Deep brick in color with a wide brick rim and an orange hue.

Wonderful earthy nose of sweet plums, cherries, raspberries, violets, strawberries, earth, forest floor, green vegetables, Mediterranean spices, black tea, smoke, vinegar, light alcohol, licorice, wood and black pepper.

Medium bodied with medium plus acidity, soft and smooth.

Dry and savory on the palate with sour cherries, cranberries, pomegranates, licorice, wood, vinaigrette, oregano, black tea, tobacco, earth, leather, bitter vegetables, herbs, spices and black pepper.

Nice finish with fine grained tannins and tart raspberries.

A nice everyday red wine from Italy, with a light mouthfeel and a great nose. Nice complexity, but not fully balanced. Better with food than all by itself. Was actually better a little chilled.

Should be better in a year or two from now.

Needs an hour to open up properly. (Tart right out of the bottle.)

12.5% alcohol by volume.

So so mellow. I can see this paired with lamb and new potate.

Another very good everyday table wine for under $10. Reminiscent of many house wines I had in Italy. Light, smooth, mild fruit & vanilla flavors.

Bold, sharp, slightly herbaceous or nutty. Nothing exciting, but not bad.
