La Plante Givry 1er Cru Chardonnay

Full bodied and elegant. Ripe pear, lemon meringue, and brioche/vanilla. Quite rich given this wine only sees 15% neutral oak.
A great value at $22. Pair with lobster tails or chicken cordon bleu.

Bit of marzipan gives this another dimension. Great acid, balance, well worth laying down for a spell.

For some reason this was labeled just as “Bourgogne blanc” on the front. Tight pear and orchard fruits, marzipan nuttiness, and minerals on the nose; some spice and lemon pith added in the mouth. Grey gold color, good oily texture, good acids. A touch too bitter, per se, but then again, I like bitterness. Marzipan grows as do pear fruitiness with air.

Just tasted like this was supposed to be made into champagne. Yellow apple, touch of butterscotch, a lot of lime juice though.. ++acid

For the 2004: Green apple skins, salted nuts and wet rocks on the nose, nutty with great minerality in the mouth, bright acidity with a long finish.

dense and good structure

Excellent Chard but more fruit forward than many. Low oak, smooth and should get better when warms a little.
