Damien Coquelet
Côte du Py Morgon Gamay
Extremely floral, excellent grip and tension. Bitter cherry pit, strawberry jam, ripe plum, Asian spice, orange peel, herbal tea and mulling spices. Definitely a natural wine showing sediment and cider-like mouthfeel after a few hours of air. Slightly oxidative with highly expressive secondary aromatics, juicy acidity and savory top notes. Displaying great maturity and complexity. Killer Morgon from a master.

Jul 26th, 2018Introductory Morgon. Sour red fruit on the nose. Palate's dramatic, berry centric acidity dominates. Still enough nuance for barnyard funk and some punchy fruit. Right on for the price.

Mar 8th, 2018Juicy, plush with just the right amount of earth and funk. What more could you want from Beaujolais?

Jun 17th, 2017Super delish gamay from Coquelet. Not too fruity, nice minerality. I just want to keep drinking it.

Oct 9th, 2018Pretty volatile soon after pouring. Calmed down with some time in the glass. But still unlikely to please everyone. The carbonic maceration is evident. With all of this, I ended up finding it to be an interedting and enjoyable expression of terroir.
